Marian and Mark

The Unity Candle Our wedding was about what ‘we’ wanted. We would both have loved to be married in our Catholic parish, but were denied because of our divorces.

God was present in our union Cathy provided a religious and spiritual aspect that no other person could. Our union became something I believe our own church would not have been able to duplicate. Each family, joined both in heart and spirit, came forward and lit the smaller candles. Mark and I completed this circle by lighting our Unity candle from these candles. This symbolized our new journey and a new chapter in our life.

Both families felt part of this celebration, as they should be. Cathy has such a calm flow in how she welcomes, relaxes and includes each person present for the celebration. We thank you from our heart, as our faith is important to both of us and I believe God was present in our union and was smiling upon us.

Cathy has a way of speaking freely from the heart and including all present. Our covenent of marriage, became a celebration of families who were asked to respect and support each other. Children and grandchildren had a place in the ceremony. As the children are adults, each family was called forward during the vows to both honour and respect their parents life-long partner. All children were witnesses to our union and were asked to sign. The eldest from each family officially witnessed our marriage certificate. Grandchildren from both families loved the party and were part of the procession.

Thanks Cathy It was an honour for both Mark & I to have Ms. Cathy Williamson, preside over our celebration of Love. “Two Lives, Two Hearts & Two Families” were brought together in a very joyous and spiritual celebration. “Yours, Mine and Ours...now one in spirit...one in heart...never to part.” Thanks Cathy!
