In April 2005, I had the pleasure of getting married for the second time. Since this was a second marriage for my husband as well, we decided to have an intimate non-secular wedding. We turned to Cathy Williamson to organize and perform the wedding ceremony.

Right from the beginning, Cathy was interested in getting to know the details of our family. Between us, Sean and I had three children (ages 10, 8 and 4). Cathy made each of the children a very important part of the ceremony.

Although we could not have a church wedding, we wanted our faith in God to be included. And, because we also wanted a reflective atmosphere involving family, a civil ceremony would not suffice. Cathy achieved this atmosphere in a way that was very intimate and included all those present. The music chosen, as well as Cathy’s touching words helped make our marriage ceremony especially meaningful.

The most memorable moment for us was when Cathy presented to us the family community cup. She explained that it was a symbol of our new family and invited each of us, including the children, to drink from it. It truly symbolized our unity. We have since had each of our names engraved on the cup (as well as the names of the latest additions to our family; Finn and Liam) and it is on display in our home as a reminder of that special occasion.

Since that day, I have had many compliments from family and friends about the personal touches that were put on the ceremony. Some have told me that it is the most beautiful wedding they have ever attended.

I believe that it is entirely to Cathy’s credit. It was truly a wonderful day for us.
