Catherine M. Williamson

Cathy Williams. Licensed to officiate at Marriages in Ontario Cathy is a retired educator who has taken up residency, with her partner, on the beautiful Ottawa River in Westmeath, Ontario.

During her 30 years of teaching in both Secondary and Elementary schools in Ontario, Cathy has worked with young people of all ages. In her Secondary School teaching, she taught marriage courses to senior students and became involved in many lively discussions which she loved.

As a young woman, Cathy entered the religious life and was a Sister of St. Joseph for 14 years. Her work in parishes led her to a degree in Theology, giving her a broad scope of experience. Cathy has always welcomed the many opportunities that such a life offered to develop and preside over formal and informal ceremonies, and she brings both a spirit of confidence to the wedding celebration and a sense of comfort and relaxation to the marriage couple.

Over the years, Cathy taught in North Bay, Nipigon/Red Rock, Thunder Bay, Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge, completing her teaching career in Ottawa in 2002. She has led workshops in educational, youth leadership and pastoral settings, and brings creative enthusiasm to her work as a marriage officiant.

Community Work

Cathy has been active in her local Westmeath community since her retirement from education in 2002. She is currently the president of the Westmeath District Recreation Centre and enjoys working with community groups on common projects
